Routes: 3 days of cycling of approximately 50-55 kms each day.

First day through Saanich and then connecting with Loch side trail.

Second day out the Galloping Goose to My Chosen Cafe for lunch.

Third day following Dallas Road along the water and then back to the ferry.

7 rooms at Huntingdon Manor have been booked at a very good rate which includes a buffet breakfast.

If you are interested in backpacking, Dianne and Dave Wharton are organizing a spring day hike to a location where introductory demonstrations and discussions will take place, followed by an overnight trip for practical application of your skills at a later date.

As a beginner backpack, we will focus on preparation, which includes learning essential skills, choosing the right gear, and trip planning.

Summer Cycling Camp planning for next summer is underway. The camp will take place in Parksville next June. The rides will include road cycling and trails and be in the 50-70-kilometre range and have moderate elevation gains.

There will be motel and camping accommodations. Please advise whether you prefer camping or motel accommodations.

Hiking in The Rockies - Expression of Interest

Four days of hiking in the beautiful Canadian Rockies. We'll use Hi Lake Louise Alpine Centre as our base
and the hikes should be within an hour's drive from there.

Hi Lake Louise Alpine Centre is part of the Hostelworld system of reasonably priced lodging. It is highly recommended that selected participants who wish to stay there make their bookings ASAP because of high demand during the summer period. Membership for the Hostel World is $25 plus tax for two years and with it members get 10% off their stay.

The Canadian Alpine Club members also enjoy a 10% discount with this hostel. There are alternatives such as hotels, campgrounds in the greater Lake Louise/Banff area, but availability as well as costs may be a challenge in high season.

In addition to the organizers, we'll take a maximum of 20 participants, who are expected to make their own arrangements for transportation as well as lodging. Please be advised that the same "Release, waiver and assumption of risk" rule from VOA shall apply to this outing as well, which participants will need to sign/agree to prior to any hikes.

This trip will follow Philip Ng’s Hiking in the Rockies, so could be combined with that trip.

A rustic lodge built in 1927 as a hunting lodge complete with two executive cabins. We have the whole lodge, sitting room with fireplace, kitchen, dining room and washrooms. Bedrooms typically have 2,3 or 4 beds. The cabins have similar layouts.

The camp will be limited to 50 people. To make this work we need to fill all the beds so give some thought to whom you’d like share a room with.

Pricing will likely be in the $90-$95 PP per night with a 90% deposit due first half of January.
